An introduction to leading groups safely in rock climbing. This is NOT a rock climbing skills course.
The course will give group leaders the skills to safely and efficiently deliver a climbing session to others.
The course will include:
Selecting crags and routes – understanding guidebooks and online resources
Using climbing equipment safely – ropes and racks
Managing the climbing environment – people and places
Building anchor belays
Setting up top ropes – from above and below
Climbing progression – when and how
